Layers and Depth
Street photography flattens three-dimensional space into two dimensions. Layers fight that. Put something in the foreground - a shoulder, a sign, a railing - and your subject behind it, or vice versa.
Wide angles exaggerate depth. Get close to your foreground element and let it loom. Your background subject stays in context but the frame gains complexity.
Watch for: the foreground element becoming a distraction rather than a frame. It needs to add to the picture, not fight with it.
